Day One is providing in-person support to people who have suffered serious injuries in Sheffield for the first time. Our caseworkers have been busy; they have already supported over 40 people in their first month.

Day One started supporting patients in Sheffield in February 2023. The Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust represents the fifth trust where Day One is providing in-person support through Caseworkers and Outreach Workers. Day One also provides support to anyone who has suffered serious injuries in the UK through our national offer, available online and over the phone >>

Caseworkers Bernice and Sue have received 47 referrals in Sheffield so far and have been hard at work providing practical and emotional support in the hospital.

“The Northern General Hospital is a busy environment and we see multiple people who have suffered serious injuries every day. More people need Day One’s help than ever before, and it’s great to be able to provide this service to people in Sheffield.”
