AAG is a managed IT support provider. They provide IT support for Day One and other local businesses in the North of England. As a company, they’re also passionate about making a difference. Marketing Manager Mark Swift writes about why AAG have become one of Day One’s greatest supporters and what they have planned for 2025.

At AAG, we’re a people business and we care not just about the day-to-day work but the support we can offer beyond “have you turned it off and on again?”.

That’s why last year, our entire team took part in the 100k in June challenge for Day One. We competed in teams to see who could clock the most distance and together we were proud to raise over £500. We also sponsored Major Trauma Awareness Week and took part in Go Orange Day.

Yes, even our IT technicians, who stereotypically sit in a windowless room all day working like trojans through tickets, got out to soak up some vitamin D and support Day One.

And this year, we’re going bigger.

Not only will the team be taking part in 100k in June again this year, but a brave group of us will push ourselves to the limit in a 15km Tough Mudder in July. On top of all that, I’ve signed up for the Round Sheffield Run a week before the Tough Mudder. I’ll be taking on over 15 miles of trail running over 11 timed stages around Sheffield’s parks. I’ve run on the road before, but I’m new to trail running. It’s going to be a challenge because it’s much harder on a muddy surface!

None of the team have done anything like the 15k Tough Mudder either. We’ve started training and hope to raise as much as we can to support Day One and the amazing work they do rebuilding people’s lives after catastrophic injury.

While we’re out there pushing our limits and running miles for a good cause, our support for Day One goes beyond physical challenges. We ensure their IT and technology not only keeps their operations running smoothly, but also enhances their efficiencies. The team on our Service Desk are always on hand to troubleshoot, enhance cybersecurity, and keep the charity’s systems up and running.

Our partnership with Day One Trauma has only just begun, but is already a testament to what can be achieved when the people within businesses get together. Whether it’s through our fundraising efforts, sponsorship initiatives, or the IT support that underpins their essential work, we’re honoured to stand by Day One Trauma’s side.
