Brian's Story

Brian, 75, was knocked off his bike by a HGV in 2021. He was airlifted to hospital where surgeons amputated his left leg, which had been crushed by the lorry.

Brian just wanted to get on with his life, but he found that legal proceedings were dragging. He had gone with a local solicitor recommended by his family, but was finding it difficult to communicate with them and he wasn’t getting the information he needed. When the solicitor failed to provide Brian with some vital information by a given date, he decided to move to one of the firms on Day One’s legal panel.

Having switched to Sintons, Brian said: “I got weekly updates from Phil Davidson, who I found extremely thorough, helpful and friendly. Things soon began to progress.”

Brian settled with the defendant’s insurer for an amount he felt would allow him to move on. Sintons were also able to help Brian with his prosthetic after he had problems with his NHS fitting. He’s now able to walk five or six miles every day with a private fitting from Steps Prosthetics.

Brian said: “I think it is important to get the right advice on legal matters from a specialist as early as possible when you have a traumatic injury. Not only can a specialist manage your case properly, firms like Sintons can also help with other problems that arise because of your injury.”
